Here is a card I made for my Happy Mail Card club! I colored a foil sticker using my Copic markers and Stampin’ Up Blendabilities. Then I used an embossing folder to create the simple design for the border. The inside has the matching flower. Overall, a simple card, but the colored image really pops!
More cards to come in the next few weeks!
I have been on a Zentangle kick lately. The link takes you directly to the “official” website, but not all designs like this have to be officially called a zentangle. Basically, the twists and patterns create the fun designs. At first they seem impossible to draw, but if you watch a couple YouTube videos about the process, it becomes much more simple. The whole mindfulness idea behind it really resonates with me too. Then my friend Cathy told me about Stamptangle stamps. Pre-stamped tangles to color. A 40% off sale and I grabbed several designs. I made the card below for my Happy Mail Card Club using Copic markers and Blendabilities. It is hard to tell in the image, but there is a crackled finish on top from Distress Rock Candy. The “hello friend” is just a sticker from a really old set I had. I thought the black cardstock really made the image pop. Just a fun, colorful card!
There will be plenty of stamptangle cards and Zentangles in my future!
To start out my Happy Mail Card Club cards for 2015, I created a simple card using the flower image from the Online Card Classes – Copic Markers for Card Makers. This image is about as detailed as I have gotten in my coloring adventures, but I was excited to blend the colors to create a realistic flower. The reds are actually the Stampin’ Up Blendabilities Cherry Cobbler set, which match the background paper (of course!). After I spent so much time coloring the image, it just seemed appropriate to use a simple background of embossed Swiss Dots and a simple “thank you” message.
I hope your crafting is off to a great start in 2015!
