Lots and Lots of Squares

I have had this little square punch for at least a decade from Creative Memories.  It cuts two nested squares.  So I decided to create this card using paper from a 6″ by 6″ paper pad.  The bottom right square was cut out from the base of the front, but I put a patterned square on the bottom part of the card.  Pretty simple, but a fun look!

Congratulations could be for anything in this case! 🙂

Happy Birthday this Summer

My Happy Mail Card Club got a fun, summery birthday card last month!  I had just purchased the retired Label Love set with punch from my Stampin Up’ demonstrator and was browsing Pinterest for ideas.  I found Lisa Young’s card and knew I wanted to replicate it.  I used a 6″ by 6″ paper pad from one of my past Simon Says Stamp kits.  I did not have any regular buttons that matched, so I die cut the button out of matching paper.  Stamping, Cuttlebug embossing, die cuts, twine, embellishments – this card has it all going on!

I liked this one so much, I made extras for myself to send out.  Hope your July is as bright and summery as this card!

Leftover Authentique Cards

Yesterday I was in my craft room, looking through my little gatherings of leftover card making supplies. I found a grouping of stickers and paper where I knew instantly how to use them up.  I had to go back through blog posts to find that these were the materials leftover from my Authentique Card Kit way back in September 2013!  How fun.  I wish Diana still made card kits!  Here are three cards I quickly put together.

That’s two weeks in a row of cards.  I have been knitting and weaving up a storm too, just nothing especially exciting to share on the blog.  Hope you are getting a chance to create lots of projects!

True Story Cards

This month for my Happy Mail Card Club I used the Simon Says Stamp “Life is a Storybook” kit.  I just love anything related to books and library materials, so this card kit was perfect for me.  I was also immediately drawn to Teri’s card with the use of multiple pages from the kit.  So I recreated it here without rounded corners and an extra layer of pieces:

I made a few extras too so I could send them out to friends.  An uplifting card in the mail is always a nice surprise!

I Scream, You Scream…

Summer may be gone, but who can resist a fun card involving ice cream?  I made this card for my Happy Mail card club from the Simon Says Stamp Summer Dreams card kit.  The ice cream bars are a stamp, but I used the fun rainbow paper that was included in our kits instead of coloring in the images.  So easy!  The whole card came together quickly when I stamped the phrase on a tag and pulled in my usual embellisments of ribbon, washi tape, and gems.

The best way to enjoy ice cream in the fall?  Pumpkin pie ice cream of course!  Something about that limited time theme just draws me in every year…next week is fall break here, so I am looking forward to catching up on some knitting!
